Some of the key highlighted issues include:

  • Put to notice the need for a Youth desk at the EAC Secretariat.
  • The need to recognize the value and responsibility of the Youth in the EAC Integration Agenda is key.
  • The need for the EAC Secretariat to publish their various expenditures on the given incentives.

The First Deputy Prime Minister promised to review the 2014 directives and make a follow-up. However the woman member of parliament for Kamuli district was also reminded about this year’s EAC Youth Ambassadors decade celebrations, which will include a Presidential Lecture. The youth requested the 1DPM to lobby H.E President Uhuru Kenyata who’s also the current Chairman of EAC to preside over this year’s event with the intention to create a dialogue between the leaders and the young people.
