CALL FOR CVs

Ministry of East African Community Affairs seeks to recruit one suitable qualified officer for the vacancy of Communications Officer on contract basis for a period of two years, to enable the Ministry carry out its set goals and objectives. 

Applicants should be Ugandans holding honours Bachelors degree in any of the following fields from a recognized University or Institution

  • Mass Communications
  • Corporate Communications
  • Information Studies
  • Journalism and Communications

 

Applicants shortlisted for oral interviews shall be required to present certified copies and originals of their academic transcripts and certificates at the time of sitting oral interviews. The duties and responsibilities are hearby attached.

Terms of reference for a Communication Officer

The Ministry of East African Community affairs  (MEACA) seeks to recruit a suitable officer for the vacancy of Communication Officer under the following terms and conditions:

Vacancy        :           Communications Officer

Salary Scale :           U4

Report to      :           Principal Public Relations Officer

Duration       :           24 months

Duties and responsibilities as indicated below

  • Analyze the MEACA communication plan and strategy and propose a “build into plan” with the National Communication Policy and strategy focusing on measures for consolidating best practices and proposing strategies for rolling out the National Communication Plan.
  • Develop joint awareness and sensitization activities with key MDAs looking at thematic issues.
  • Review and develop focused group sensitization and awareness activities/messages to different stakeholders in the private sector like for example the cross boarder traders with special reference to Women, youth entrepreneurs/traders,agri-buniness traders and investors focusing on regional frameworks like SPS,transporters etc.
  • Work out a program for EAC clubs in secondary schools and tertiary institution proposing a strategy which incorporates debates, MDD and other activities.
  • Develop TV and radio programs focusing on recent regional developments and on MEACA awareness and sensitization reports, including the frequently asked questions on to invest in East Africa market and thus working towards expediting the East Africa Integration process.
  • Propose and develop a documentation plan which will be disseminated to stakeholders but which is innovatively different from the UMOJA.
  • Any other duties assigned from time to time.
