While this Ministry is in a way involved in the implementation of EAC commitments in the process of integration, our core role is coordination while other Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies do the implementation of the objectives of the EAC Treaty. I am pleased to state that we have done that and achieved a lot.
It gives me pride to state that all Partner States have signed and ratified the three of the four Protocols that constitute the pillars of the EAC integration; the Customs Union, the Common Market and the Monetary Union. I want to call upon all of you, our stakeholders, to embrace the opportunities provided by these Protocols as we embark on the final journey to Political Federation.
This website will keep detailing the successes of MEACA in particular and the Government of Uganda in general.
We have also established a Resource Centre at the Ministry. It is a one stop centre for all information on EAC integration. I encourage the students, business community and the general public to visit and attain more information as we coordinate the process of having one East Africa.
